The Latin Mass Leeds blog is here to raise awareness of the activity related to the Extraordinary Form of Mass (also known as the Traditional Latin or Tridentine Mass) in the Diocese of Leeds and to promote and publicize other issues of interest to traditionally minded Catholics. This blog has no official links with any other organisations.
Of your charity please remember two of our diocesan priests who are both suffering from serious illnesses, Fr. Krykiewski who is parish priest at Our Lady of Lourdes, Leeds and Fr. Abberton, the parish priest at St. Anthony's, Clayton, Bradford. I have already suspended the Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes and I am afraid that I shall have to do the same at Clayton as well until further notice.
Masses this weekend for the fifth Sunday of Pentecost are as follows:
The feast day of Our Mother of Perpetual Help is celebrated on June 27th. Under Pope Pius XII's Pontificate, our Mother of Perpetual Succour was designated as the national Patroness of the Republic of Haiti and Almoradi, Spain. It is also one of the patronal feasts of the diocese of Leeds. We have again been invited by Lady Deirdre and Mr Ian Curteis to hear a sung Mass in their beautiful medieval chapel at Markenfield Hall, just south of Ripon towards Harrogate on the right hand side. The celebrant is Father Parfitt, to whom thanks are also due. Mass at 6.00 p.m.
