Of your charity please pray for the repose of the soul of Mr. James Carroll who departed this life on Saturday 25th November at his home after a long illness patiently borne. May he rest in peace.
Jim and Marie were regular attenders at our Masses for many years until ill health curtailed their ability to travel.
Jim was always well informed and a loyal son of the Church. Our prayers go to his widow Marie.
Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
The Latin Mass Leeds blog is here to raise awareness of the activity related to the Extraordinary Form of Mass (also known as the Traditional Latin or Tridentine Mass) in the Diocese of Leeds and to promote and publicize other issues of interest to traditionally minded Catholics. This blog has no official links with any other organisations.

Pentecost XXIV
On Saturday (a week earlier than usual) there will be a sung Mass in the Ordinariate Rite at 3.00 p.m. at St. Joseph's, Bradford. The canon of this Mass is a beautiful translation and its language is utterly transcendent.
On Sunday we celebrate the 24th and last Sunday after Pentecost - which means Advent is on the horizon.
We have two Masses:
11.00 a.m. Sacred Heart, Broughton Hall, Skipton
12.30 p.m. St. Joseph's, Pakington Street, Bradford
Confessions at call.

SOLEMN REQUIEM - LEEDS CATHEDRAL
The annual Solemn Mass of Requiem for Bishop Wheeler will take place again this Saturday 17th November at 3.00 p.m. with the venue being the Cathedral.
Last year Bishop Marcus was the celebrant, this year the celebrant is Fr. Crawley whose role as celebrant at a solemn Mass is a first for him. A couple of years ago Fr. Abberton (R.I.P.) was the celebrant and he is pictured above at the arrival of the foot of the altar.
Thanks as always to the Cathedral Dean Mgr. Moger who always hosts this Mass superbly with his natural affability.
Reminder that there will be Low Mass on Sunday at 8.00 a.m. in the Lady Chapel of the Cathedral.
Also on Sunday which is the sixth remaining after Pentecost:
11.00 a.m. Sacred Heart, Broughton Hall, Skipton
12.30 p.m. St. Joseph's, Pakington Street, Bradford
Confessions at call.

Mr. Kevin Turley
K. V. Turley is
a film critic and writer who worked in the film industry for a number of years.
He writes the Faith on Film column for the St. Austin Review published in the United States. He has also
written many articles for Catholic publications such as National Catholic
Register. Catholic World Report, Crisis, Catholic Herald
and The Tablet.
“St. Thomas More, Bonnie & Clyde and the Birth of New Hollywood”
(1967 was a pivotal year in Hollywood. Two films were at the centre of
this transformation. One depicts a saint, the other tells a sordid tale of bank
robbers. The films represent opposing philosophies, not just of filmmaking but
also of the culture in which they were made. In their different ways they
represent old Hollywood then dying and the New Hollywood about to move into the
ascendant)

This weekend
Thanks to Canon Wiley for offering All Saints and All Souls Masses for us at St. Joseph's, Bradford. The All Souls Day Solemn High Mass offered by Mgr. Smith assisted by Fathers Aladics and Crawley accompanied by members of the St. Austin singers was a sublime experience and there is to be another Solemn High Mass on Friday 7th. December at St. Austin's, Wakefield.
Sunday's Mass is of the fourth remaining after the Epiphany and we have two Masses:
11.00 a.m Sacred Heart, Broughton Hall, Skipton missa cantata
12.30 p.m. St Joseph's, Pakington Street, Bradford
Confessions at call.
On Tuesday there is the second Cathedral Lecture to be given by Kevin Turley and I shall post details shortly.
