Saturday - Ordinariate in Leeds Diocese

Mr Hirst, my good friend of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham has asked me to announce the following:

The next Ordinariate Use Mass at St Joseph’s is on Saturday, 4 May at 3.00 p.m. 

At this Mass, we will receive one candidate into the Catholic Church according to Ordinariate Rites, so this is a big moment for us - our first convert.

Low Sunday

Low Sunday, Quasimodo Sunday or Divine Mercy Sunday falls this weekend and we have two Masses:

Sacred Triduum and this weekend

Due to recent clerical appointments I have been unable to announce the details of the Sacred Triduum this year until now.

Once again the Triduum will take place at Notre Dame chapel at the Catholic Chaplaincy in St. Mark's Avenue, Leeds at the following times:

Holy Thursday 7.30 p.m. with adoration at the chapel of repose until 9.00 p.m.
Good Friday 3.00 p.m.
Holy Saturday 2.00 p.m.

Easter Sunday 11.00 a.m. Sacred Heart, Broughton Hall, Skipton
                        12.30 p.m. St. Joseph's, Pakington Street, Bradford

(No Cathedral Mass on Easter Sunday)


This weekend sees Passion Sunday and the statues should be now veiled in purple to signify our Lord's hiding from view as recalled in the Gospel. As we are henceforth in Passiontide the Judica me and the Gloria patri are omitted at Mass. We have two Masses:

12.30 p.m. St. Joseph's, Pakington Street, Bradford

This Saturday at 3.00 p.m. there will be Mass in the Ordinariate Rite at St. Joseph's, Bradford. It is nice to see other people at this Mass who also go to the EF Masses on Sunday.
