Pentecost VII

This Sunday is the seventh Sunday after Pentecost with its salutary Gospel and we have two Masses:

11.00 a.m. Sacred Heart, Broughton Hall, Skipton

1.00 p.m. St. Joseph's, Pakington Street, Bradford (missa cantata)

Confessions at call.

Later in the week there will be Mass at Markenfield Hall near Ripon on Tuesday at 6.00 p.m.

On Thursday there is Mass again at St. Anthony's, Clayton, Bradford at 9.30 a.m. and on Friday we have the first Friday Mass at St. Austin's, Wakefield at 7.30 p.m. The Masses at Clayton have been going very well and are scheduled at a time when all the rush hour morning traffic has dissipated.

On Saturday (2nd August) at St. Joseph's, Bradford there will be Mass again according to the Ordinariate Rite at 3.00 p.m.

As ever we are grateful to all the clergy who give freely of their time to offer the Mass for us.

This weekend is the sixth Sunday after Pentecost and we have three Masses:

8.00 a.m. Leeds Cathedral, Cookridge Street, Leeds
11.00 a.m. Sacred Heart, Broughton Hall, Skipton
1.00 p.m. St. Joseph's, Pakington Street, Bradford

News from Markenfield Hall:
There are two Masses in the next few weeks at this beautiful moated manor house just south of Ripon:

Tuesday 30th July at 6.00 p.m. (missa lecta)
Saturday 17th August at 11.00 a.m. - this will be the annual sung Requiem with chant from monks of Ampleforth Abbey and celebrated by Fr. Creighton-Jobe Cong. Orat. The Mass will be for deceased members of the Markenfield family who suffered heroically for the Faith following the 1569 uprising.

 

New regular Mass

From September the Parish Priest of St. Anthony's Clayton, Fr. Simon Winn, will be joining the rota of priests at St. Joseph's who offer the EF on Sundays.
In addition Father Winn will also say Mass on Thursday mornings at St. Anthony's at 9.30 a.m. starting this week on 18th. July. Needless to say I am very pleased with this development and most grateful to Fr. Winn.

Please also remember that the weekly Sunday Mass at St. Joseph's, Bradford will start at the slightly later time of 1.00 p.m. from next week for reasons alluded to in today's sermon by Fr. Hall.

Pentecost V

Reminder that there will be Mass in the Ordinariate Rite at St. Joseph's, Pakington Street, Bradford on Saturday at 3.00 p.m.

Sunday is the fifth Sunday after Pentecost and we have two Masses:

11.00 a.m. Sacred Heart, Broughton Hall, Skipton
12.30 p.m. St. Joseph's, Pakington Street, Bradford

We have booked the cathedral for the annual November Mass of Requiem and I am pleased to announce that from next week there will be a new regular weekly Mass in Bradford. I will be posting details on Monday.

Geoffrey Thornton's Requiem

Geoff's requiem will take place at the church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Harrogate Road, Moortown, Leeds at 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday 10th. July. Burial afterwards at Sicklinghall.

On Saturday at St. Joseph's, Bradford there will be Mass in the Rite of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. This will be at the usual time of 3.00 p.m.

Pentecost IV

This weekend we are back to green vestments for the Mass of the fourth Sunday after Pentecost.

On Friday we have the first Friday Mass at 7.30 p.m. at St. Austin's, Wakefield

We have two Masses on Sunday:
