Best Christmas present

Yesterday I accidentally caught sight of one of the best presents I have ever received - above. It wasn't even for me personally. It said something to me that was of more value to me than anything.

Deo gratias and Merry Christmas.

Gaudete

Image result for advent iii

Gaudete - the third Sunday of Advent is almost upon us and means that this year Christmas is only two weeks away. The lightning of the mood with rose vestments is a gladness at the nearing of Christ's coming in the glory of his birth.
Masses on Sunday:

11.00 a.m. Sacred Heart, Broughton Hall, Skipton
12.30 p.m. St. Joseph's Pakington Street, Bradford (Sung Mass)

I was very lucky to be able to attend Wednesday's Cathedral Lecture (unlike the nightmare we had failing to get to the last lecture on All Souls day).

This month's talk was delivered by Professor John Rist, now of Cambridge University and formerly of Washington's Catholic University to name only two.

I hope to give a summary of the professor's talk soon.

O God our refuge and our strength, look down in mercy on thy people who cry to Thee and through the intercession of the glorious and immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, of Blessed Joseph her spouse, the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul and of all the saints, mercifully and graciously hear our prayers for the freedom and exaltation of our holy mother, the Church. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
